Every year a new version of Madden comes out. It becomes even more realistic every year. It includes new players from the draft and progression and regression stats based on the previous year. Madden has become the bridge for all football fans from the day after the Super Bowl till the kickoff of the following season. If you dont believe me ask my father, who plays religiously until the start of the new season. I myself find it helps relax me after having a stressful day. Mostly though, its helps get me through the months in between. I went from playing football in high school to just being able to “play” football on Madden.

Once I hear or see this I become so excited because I know the season has really began. This is better then any hype song by Lil Jon, Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash or the song “knuck if you buck” by Crime Mob. This is my hype music.

Darrelle Revis and Chris Johnson the holdouts….Both players have shown to be elite at their positions and in the NFL. Revis who most consider the best shutdown corner in the game salary of $626,00 is appalling in comparison to Nnamandi Asomugha $14 million a year. While Revis tried to bluff his way to a new contract, Chris Johnson is staring down the barrel likely to skip training camp in hopes it will force the Titans to give him a better deal then the $550,000 he likely to make this year. Players of his caliber are making about $4 to $5 million a year.

Then there is Terrell Owens better known as T.O. Yes, he has had a decline in performance, but he was on the Bills with a below average offensive line and an average quarterback(Can you name him without looking at the roster). I would say he did rather well 55 catches, 829 yards and 5 TD’s. While these numbers aren’t that great, on a better offense (Dallas) the year before he had 69 catches, 1,052 yards and 10 TD’s. I believe he can still play in this league better then most guys that are on teams right now. He will find a home may take an injury but he still has what it takes to be an effective and productive weapon on the field and as quiet as he was in Buffalo off the field.(I forgot he was even there)

Yes, its almost here a new season of football. There is nothing like it for those that have played. Maybe I have an obsession with football ( I know im not the only one). This probably comes from growing up watching and then playing. How can I just let it go!? I cant! So I focus my obsession from playing football to watching. Playing cant be compared to anything. For those that haven’t it is a feeling and experience that can never be fully expressed. After the Saints stunned everyone in the World except the Who Dat Nation and beat the Golden Boy and the Colts, avid football fans had nothing to do. My remote stayed on NFL network watching everyday speculation of all the draft picks and trade talk for alas this was as close as we could get to actual football. Mix in playing last years version of Madden to reduce the amount withdrawal from real football.
